What is a food safety course?

Food safety course is a training course offered by the Food Safety and Inspection Service. The course provides information on foodborne illness, proper food handling, and sanitation practices. The education in the various topics covered includes providing details about how to prevent food poisoning, what causes food poisoning, how to manage an outbreak of an infectious disease, maintaining safe water supplies and waste disposal systems, preventing cross contamination in the kitchen and workplace, as well as proper nutrition.
